A Simple Request...

So does anyone have a few thousand dollars lying around to get me back a racing license?  If so then does anyone have a car available to actually race in?

No?

Do you know anyone who does??

I know this is a shot in the dark, but I would really like to get back behind the wheel and I cannot do this on my own.  It has been since 2003 that I was competitively racing and that is far too long to wait.

In 2009 I began using iRacing to keep my desire to race satisfied.  I had a basic wheel hooked up to a desk while sitting in a canvas chair lined with pillows.  My computer had a 17 inch monitor that was still using a 4:3 ratio.  It was not the most realistic setup, but it did the job.  Now I have a 50 inch wide screen with a racing seat mounted on aluminum frame with a realistic steering wheel and pedal setup, but it is still sitting here in my living room.  While it is better than nothing it does not replace actually being in a car, at speed, pushing the limits.  The thing is that I am still quite good at it, and I can only do so much in the virtual world.  I want to give real life racing another go.  I’m just not sure how to make that possible.

So I have a number of options, most of which are out of my price range.  They involve going back to a racing school like Jim Russell in Mont Tremblant (which I did in 1997), Bridgestone Racing Academy in Bowmanville, or any of the number of Skip Barber Racing Schools in the USA.

Doing one of those would be step one, but it would set me back $4000 I do not have.  That is why I am going back to my original question…

Does anyone have a few thousand dollars lying around??  If so you can contact me below!

Once we get that part sorted I’ll worry about the second part of that question…

Finding a car to actually race in…

So stay tuned!  Let’s so how this goes!
