Things Are Starting to Happen
I am not sure where this week is going to take me, nor am I sure where this month or year will take me! However I feel this week is the beginning of an interesting direction, and one I am very much looking forward to seeing where it goes.
I have been helping to teach improv recently which is an exciting step for me. I know I may never be the most gifted performer, but I know with hard work, and willingness to learn myself, I can be good at this. So big thanks to Brandon and Heather for having me come along to experience and learn. It means a lot and I’m very excited to be a part of someone else's improv journey. So I’m looking forward to it more and more, to see what new paths this will take me on.
Improv to some of you may just seem like the performance side of things, but it is much more than that to me. I have been in to meditation in order to calm my mind but I realize now, more than ever, that improv helps bring the same thing to me. Living outside of my own head is difficult and improv lets me do that. Sometimes I need meditation to quiet things down, but sometimes I need improv to have some place for it to go. Being able to share that with others is part of the teaching bit I’m becoming aware of.
Away from improv I am recently ran an endurance race on iRacing. What is that you may ask? Well it is a group of 3 guys who take turns (online) driving a simulated 2016 Porsche 919 LMP1 car. It is a technological marvel that you have to manage just like you would in real life. I love the team aspect of it and I’m looking forward to getting back to it in a couple weeks.
Finally (for now) is being able to do more and more with my son. He’s getting bigger, and smarter like all kids do, but he really does make me proud each and every day. So on Sunday playing baseball and doing improv together, as well as watching science videos on YouTube, was about as good as it gets!
Can’t wait to see what’s next! This week is just another beginning!
